Fistgig is an experimental art band composed of multidisciplinary artists: Melissa Vogley Woods, Gina Osterloh and Liz Roberts, who have performed together since 2018. Fistgig utilizes sound and performance to create “love-song activism, performative odes, and songs of resistance”. We are inspired by the raw connections our band creates with our audiences and we labor to create love and rageful commentary infused with the power of percussive rhythm, heart felt solos and impassioned vocalizations. Our work is influenced by woman of the early punk era, feminist literature, and a diverse range of historic woman rebels.

VOIDWAVE

VOIDWAVE RADIO on VERGE.FM is a one-hour, monthly radio experience that zeros in on the sweet sounds of patriarchal destruction. Featuring interviews, captured performances, recordings, and spoken word. VOIDWAVE RADIO slices into the past while grasping for new futures and is guided by FISTGIG members Gina Osterloh, Liz Roberts, and Melissa Vogley Woods.

MINT COLLECTIVE

MINT Collective:Collaborative Exhibition at Springbreak Brooklyn immersive Brooklyn, NY. 2018 and Skylab, Columbus Ohio

MINT is a collaborative, multidisciplinary collective founded and operated by artists located in Columbus, Ohio. Abidingly fresh, adaptable, and dynamic, our mission at MINT is to support underrepresented and developing artists, to cultivate relationships within the community, to embrace alternative projects, and to remain persistently disobedient to traditional thinking.

WILL PLAY FOR SPACE 2017: MEATBALL originated from a proposed basketball tournament in which local artist-run spaces would participate: our gallery, a former meat processing facility, transformed into a nearly full size court, Columbus’ art community as players and spectators in a communal performance. MINT Collective has since vacated our former facilities, alleviating undue financial burden and mitigating friction between our physical operation and city administration. Without a home court, WILL PLAY FOR SPACE is recontextualized into a broader conversation about displacement and nomadic participation, sustainability, and alternatives to alternatives.
